Q: “Where does my dog board”?
A: Both our Northfield and Northbrook facilities are licensed kennels from The State of Illinois. Depending on the time of year and space availability, your dog could board at either facility. Dogs who board at the Northfield facility will be transported to The Ranch to play throughout the day prior to returning to Northfield for feeding and bedtime.
Q: “Are the dogs crated”?
A: Loving Care encourages dogs to socialize throughout the day. Dogs are crated for feeding and sleeping only. Owners are requested to provide their dogs’ own food and bedding, but no toys.
Q: “My dog takes medication. Do you administer medication”?
A: Yes. At the time of check-in, please tell us your dog’s medication schedule and we will take care of it. Occasionally there is an extra fee for injections. Please be aware that The Ranch is located behind Glencoe Animal Hospital and adjacent to the 24-hour Animal Emergency Clinic.
Q: “Can I pick up my dog on weekends”?
A: Yes. Please make arrangements at the time of check in for weekend pick ups. We do not allow pick ups after 6pm at night.
Q: “What about your cancellation policy?”
A: A credit card account must accompany any reservation for boarding, but cancellations are not charged. However, Loving Care does require deposits for boarding reservations at Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years, Spring Break, and the month of August. Deposits will not be refunded if reservations are cancelled after the middle of the month (11/15, 12/15, 3/15 and 8/1 for August). Loving Care accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Q: “Who cares for my dog”?
A: Loving Care provides 24-hour attendance for your pet. Throughout the daytime, there is one attendant for every 10 dogs. Dogs are separated by age, size, demeanor, breed.
Q: “Can I tour the facility”?
A: Yes, and we encourage all potential customers to visit The Ranch. For tours, we are open Monday through Friday with no appointment necessary.
Q: “Do I need to make an appointment for Boarding”?
A: Yes. Call 847-205-3320. Early appointments are strongly encouraged for holiday periods and especially Spring Break. Loving Care does sell out.
